ESTYN Inspection 2022

The school received an ESTYN inspection in June 2022. Estyn inspectors said that Ysgol Llanybydder, 'happy, safe and hard-working community' adding, 'The pupils are extremely polite and very proud of their school and their a community. They have a say in the life of the school and they collaborate effectively with each other and adults when planning rich learning experiences'.

It was emphasized in the report that, 'One of the strongest characteristics of the school is the homely atmosphere and the kind and gentle way many of the older pupils look after their younger peers.'

It was also said, 'The school listens to the voice of the pupils and supports them when necessary. For example, the governors supported the pupils' request to the local authority to improve the condition of the road outside the school. Following a detailed letter from pupils stating the unacceptable condition of the road, the authority arranged for the road to be repaired urgently.'

The staff, leaders, governors and parents were all praised in the report.

Project SIARC

Yr 5/6 Pupils have had the fantastic opportunity to be involved in Project SIARC working alongside Swansea University and looking at endangered species of Sharks in particular the ‘Angel Shark’. Yr 5/6 were invited to display their work at the Botanical Gardens on the 5/12/22.
